Doltone House Jones Bay Wharf is one of my favourite inner-city Sydney wedding venues. It’s an industrial-style space which lends itself to beautiful decor like hanging floral installations – check out this breathtaking setup by Anna Wang.
The deck which runs along the length of the venue offers plenty of space for pre-reception canapes, or even a more intimate Hindu or civil ceremony.
One thing I really love about Doltone House Jones Bay Wharf is the wide variety of backdrops and settings you can use for your bridal party shoot, all within walking distance. On one side is Pirrama Park which offers some greenery and palm trees, as well as a long wooden boardwalk with clear views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
On the other side is a long walkway with old tram tracks and and an industrial facade which looks great if you’re after something a little more gritty and modern in your wedding photos.
Head down the road for 30 seconds and you’ll find an old weathered brick building which is perfect for a rustic vibe.
We recently had to contend with torrential rain at a recent wedding at Doltone House Jones Bay Wharf, and luckily we were able to use the spacious loading dock area for a first look and bridal party shoot. This is a huge bonus when you’re looking at venues because many of them have no rainy day backup option.
At night you can duck out of your reception and capture some romantic, intimate wedding photos along the deck with the city lights and Sydney Harbour Bridge behind you.
The awning along the deck is set up with fairy lights which will look so pretty in your night time wedding photos.
There’s also ample parking at the Wilson parking about 100 metres down the road, which offers discounted parking for wedding guests. This is a huge advantage for an inner-city venue!
If you’re looking for a versatile, . The food is some of the best I’ve had at any wedding venue in Sydney too 🙂
I love photographing at Doltone House Jones Bay Wharf – it has a wide range of photogenic locations nearby, an emergency undercover area if it rains, and when you add your personal style to the ballroom it photographs beautifully.
I’d love to be your Doltone House Jones Bay Wharf wedding photographer, so get in touch – I’d love to hear from you.
